Just a few weeks ago, the governor of California signed a law requiring any candidate to release their tax returns before they are able to get on the ballot.

It was widely seen as being aimed at President Trump who, despite promising to release them, refuses to share his tax returns as all Presidential candidates have done in modern times.

Now the governor of Oregon, Kate Brown, agrees.

“We have to hold our elected officials accountable,” she told the Huffington Post when asked about it. “I think this is just one way of doing it.”

Oregon Gov. Kate Brown (D) said she would happily sign such a law requiring presidential candidates to release their tax returns if they want to appear on the state’s primary ballot in 2020.

The Trump campaign and the RNC are currently challenging the California law in court.

But if it gains wider acceptance and spreads to other states, it would be a huge headache for the President.
