If the President is attempting to wag the dog by escalating a conflict in Iran, this could be the reason—the newly-released emails from the White House showing the hold on the Ukraine aid was a “clear direction” from Donald Trump himself.
On Thursday, Just Security publishes emails that could be instrumental in impeachment trial. Trump is charged with withholding $400 million in Congress-approved aid to Ukraine until its government agreed to open an investigation into his political rival Joe Biden.
One of the emails in question is from Michael Duffey, the associate director of national security programs, to Elaine McCusker, the acting Pentagon comptroller. The most damning sentence being, “Clear direction from POTUS to continue to hold.”
The Military Strike
Early on Friday morning, the United States launched an airstrike at Baghdad’s international airport which resulted in the death of Qassem Soleimani.
Soleimani was the head of Iran’s elite Quds Force and one of the most powerful people in the region.
It would appear that the President orchestrated the strike without consulting members of Congress—although he may have discussed his plans with Senator Lindsey Graham (R-NC) during a round of golf.
Sen. Chuck Schumer says Gang of Eight was not informed ahead of time of U.S. airstrike that killed Iranian commander Qassem Soleimani.

Is it a Distraction?
Is it feasible to think the President of the United States would start a war just to help get re-elected? Donald Trump definitely thinks that it is.
Before he was President or even running for the office, Trump repeatedly “warned” people that President Obama would start a war with Iran in order to help him win reelection.
Listen to this…..

Trump always seems to accuse people of stuff he has done or would like to do….
