Republican group’s devastating new ad on Fox News reveals ‘King’ Trump’s legal shell game

The Republicans for the Rule of Law are calling out Trump in a new ad, and they are running it in a spot where he is sure to catch a glimpse: Fox News.

The ad starts, “Our nation’s founders fought a war to get rid of a king,” and goes on to warn, “No one is above the law, and no one gets special treatment.”

To get the ad made, Republicans for the Rule of Law partnered with Protect Democracy, a nonpartisan group. They put the spot up on shows like “Tucker Carlson Tonight” and “Hannity.”

In a joint statement, the two groups defined the purpose of the new ad saying it was needed because Trump acts like he has “unlimited power.”

The Republicans for Rule of Law ad is just the latest in many anti-Trump ads to make the rounds. While it is true that not all of them have found their way to Fox News, some still manage to get the President’s attention.

The Lincoln Project, a never-Trump group formed by George Conway and other Republicans, earned a Twitter tantrum when they released this ad:

A “political media brand” called The Recount,  went after Trump’s lackadaisical approach to the coronavirus crisis. It covers the early days of the pandemic and is a compilation of the President’s theories and hunches.

Even the late night hosts get in on the anti-Trump fun. The Daily Show put together a hilarious video of all the mumblings and mispronunciations Trump has uttered in his coronavirus press briefings. This collection may be enough to get voters to pull the lever for a more eloquent candidate.
