Devastating new viral Biden ad portrays Trump as a deer frozen in the headlights

The gloves are off for the latest round in Biden versus Trump.

When it comes to campaign material, Trump helpfully hands it straight over to his rival, candidate for the Democrats: Joe Biden. Thanks to the President’s late-night tirades on Twitter, incoherent ramblings at press conferences, and outlandish claims, Biden has much fodder to choose from.

The latest Biden ad was selective and brutal. It compared Trump to a “deer frozen in the headlights” by the coronavirus.

WATCH:

The ad used new research claiming that 36,000 Americans would still be alive if social distancing measures had been put in place just one week earlier. Yet Trump was:

“Too scared to act, too panicked to tell the truth, too weak to lead. A president who can’t handle the crisis is no president at all.”

A deer in the headlights; too scared to act; too weak to lead.

Is it any wonder that the GOP’s entire strategy depends on silly baseless smears and trying to cheat?

Is the metaphor too forgiving?

Among the torrent of support, retweets, and praise for the devastating ad, many users saw a flaw in the metaphor. They pointed out that the President did not “freeze” but flailed around staying“busy” holding rallies, calling the pandemic a hoax and playing golf.

Deers don’t lie

The ad accuses Trump of choosing the economy over American lives when faced with a nationwide pandemic. He was effectively paralyzed by his fear of how the coronavirus would affect his trade deal with China, and the repercussions on the stock market.

His faltering indecision and failure to control the pandemic have resulted in the deaths of nearly 100,000 Americans and an unemployment crisis, with over 38 million jobs lost.

One user defended the President, pointing out it was unfair to expect a TV host to know how to run the country:

All quiet on the MAGA front

The most significant outcome of the ad was the deafening silence from Trump supporters. The ad appeared to leave many ordinarily outspoken defenders of the President speechless (like a deer frozen in the headlights, perhaps?). The general consensus from the Twitter sounding board was a resounding roar of approval. The ad has been seen over a million times and many users urged others to retweet the ad and share the message.

Another viral ad this week was a brutal montage of footage of the President playing golf as the death toll from the COVID-19 pandemic continued to rise unchecked.

Trump has hit back with ads attacking Biden’s age, and the battle in the virtual arena continues.
