#SherrodSlamsSenators: Video of senator asking another to wear a mask goes viral

Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH) had no qualms about calling out a fellow lawmaker. Brown asked Alaska’s Senator Sullivan to wear a mask while speaking. None to pleased by the request, Sullivan responded, “I don’t need your instruction.”

Video of the moment quickly went viral.

The video garnered a lot of attention on social media.

Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) decided to join the fray calling Sullivan “a complete ass” in a tweet. Cruz claimed the Alaskan was “over 50 feet away” from other people — apparently forgetting that there were several staffers in front of Sullivan. His comments earned him quite a bit of ridicule on Twitter.

With 11 million cases and counting, Senators should be setting a good example and wearing their masks while on the floor. D.C. has not been immune to the coronavirus by a long shot, and it was just announced on Tuesday that 87-year-old Chuck Grassley (R-IA) was exposed and quarantining.

We need more Sherrod Brown’s and fewer Ted Cruz’s.#WearAMask
