The first Costco just opened in China Tuesday…and shut its doors several hours later because of brawling mobs.
Chinese social media clips show glimpses of the crazy free-for-all, with crammed customers “playing tug-of-war with raw poultry and elbowing other shoppers out of the way.”
Customers who braved the half-hour check-out lines were later messaged and told to avoid coming to the store during peak hours.
It’s still unclear whether the store will open on Wednesday.
