Washington DC was abuzz late last week after President Trump’s personal assistant, Madeline Westerhout, suddenly left her job.
Apparently, after having one too many drinks during an off-the-record dinner with reporters at the president’s golf club in New Jersey, Westerhout bragged that she had a better relationship with Trump than his own daughters, Ivanka and Tiffany — and that Trump couldn’t pick Tiffany out in a crowd.
She also claimed that Trump didn’t like being in pictures with Tiffany because he considered her overweight. Seriously,
Westerhout, 28, began working for Trump in 2016, as a kind of gatekeeper.
Trump confirmed on Friday that she’d been dismissed because of comments she made to reporters about his children. He called the comments “a little bit hurtful.”
Saturday, he tweeted that she’d apologized and he’d forgiven her:
While Madeleine Westerhout has a fully enforceable confidentiality agreement, she is a very good person and I don’t think there would ever be reason to use it. She called me yesterday to apologize, had a bad night. I fully understood and forgave her! I love Tiffany, doing great!
