The Air Force has come under scrutiny recently for its practice of using Trump’s Scotland Turnberry resort for housing military personnel.

The practice is being internally investigated, and preliminary numbers have shown that there have been at least 40 stopovers at the resort in recent years.

Politico recently discovered that at least one of those stopovers in Scotland lasted 5 days, and the Air Force crew members enjoyed time on the golf course while there. There was no mention whether the golf outing was covered with taxpayer funds.

The extended stays at the property are reportedly due to inclement weather or aircraft repairs.

Apparently, common practice at Turnberry includes awarding high-ranking military officers with the resort’s “Pride Pin” which is only given out to VIPs that visit the resort.

The question of whether the practice of staying in a Trump-owned property is unethical and misuse of military funds has put the brakes on a new contract between the US Department of Defense and Glasgow Prestwick Airport.

Trump has, of course, denied any involvement tweeting that increased military spending at one of his properties has “nothing” to do with him. Yet, Trump is still financially tied to his businesses, even though his children are doing the day-to-day work of running them.
