KCNA (Korean Central News Agency), the official news source of North Korea, released a series of photos on Wednesday morning that show leader Kim Jong Un riding up Mount Paektu on a white horse.

The mountain is the highest peak on the Korean Peninsula, and it is considered a sacred place. Mount Paektu and the white horse are both symbolic of the Kim dynasty, and the North Korean leader visits the mountain when making big decisions. (He previously took a trip before having his uncle executed in 2013 and before diplomacy talks with the U.S. and South Korea in 2018.)

According to the AP, Kim went on this particular trip to make a vow “to overcome U.S.-led sanctions” that are infuriating his people.

KCNA discussed the photos, “He, sitting on the horseback atop Mt Paektu, recollected with deep emotion the road of arduous struggle he covered for the great cause of building the most powerful country with faith and will as firm as Mt Paektu.”

As can be expected, the internet had plenty of jokes about the photo op:
