A new report shows that Jennifer Van Laar, the person that posted the nude photos of Representative Katie Hill (D-CA) online, is a political hack that once worked for Hill’s opponent.
Hill was able to flip the only remaining red seat in Los Angeles County to blue when she beat out Representative Steve Knight in the 2018 mid-term elections. She joined the ranks of 117 female freshmen which includes Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN).
She chose to resign on Sunday when a relationship with a campaign staffer came to light via the publishing of revenge porn photos that were allegedly given to Van Laar by Hill’s ex-husband. The photos were released without her consent in an attempt to “humiliate” her in a “disgusting and unforgivable” campaign.
The photos were initially published on RedState.com, a conservative publication, where Van Laar is a deputy managing editor. Plus, the pictures were also posted by The Daily Mail. Immediately after the revenge porn was published, Van Laar tweeted encouragement to “learn more about” Mike Garcia a Republican candidate running for Hill’s seat. A new report reveals that she has been a consultant for several Republican politicians including the former representative that Hill unseated, Steve Knight.

Since then, Van Laar has refused to reveal her sources. Although she told Tucker Carlson that she hopes Hill doesn’t have plans to sue.

Republicans have already started scavenging for Hill’s still warm seat. Steve Knight is “absolutely considering” running again. Plus, George Papadopoulos—a former Trump aide who was convicted of lying to the FBI—has officially filed.
