A prominent Fox News commentator Britt McHenry is suing the cable network over alleged sexual harassment from her co-host George Murdoch, aka ‘Tyrus’.
Although it is not the first time the Rupert Murdoch-owned network has faced accusations of alleged sexual harassment, Fox News has denied her claims and hit back.
But on Wednesday, McHenry tweeted: “There is documentation to prove everything I have claimed. I look forward to my day in court.”
McHenry presented the “Un-PC” show on Fox Nation alongside George ‘Tyrus’ Murdoch, from December 2018 to February 2019.
What are the allegations?
McHenry’s lawsuit accuses ‘Tyrus’ of “volatile and unpredictable behavior” at work and sending explicit text messages.
Text messages allegedly said:
“I love pony tails and braids you look amazing and it’s a real turn on not that you care but I love it.”
“The picture looks so good I would knock up the picture …. crazy sexy love your legs.”
Why it matters
The lawsuit also alleges that Fox News attempted to retaliate against her after she complained about his behavior.
In addition, McHenry suit alleges that Fox “punished the victim and rewarded the harasser” by “stripping her of professional opportunities while simultaneously promoting” her co-host Tyrus.
The lawsuit names Fox News Network, Fox Entertainment Group, News Corp., Fox Corp., and Murdoch. McHenry alleges gender discrimination and sexual harassment, retaliation, aiding and abetting gender discrimination and retaliation as well as intentional infliction of emotional distress, according to USA Today.
In the lawsuit, she also says, “Fox News remains a sanctuary for sexual harassers”.
What does Fox say?
Fox told Vanity Fair in a statement:
“Ms. McHenry’s lawsuit recycles the same allegations she filed with the New York State Division of Human Rights in October, to which we filed a response on Friday. As we have previously stated, Ms. McHenry’s allegations have been fully investigated and we are confident our actions will be deemed entirely appropriate in litigation. We expect all of her claims to be dismissed.”
Fox also said it had previously said the matter had been “immediately and thoroughly investigated by an outside law firm charged with providing independent factual findings and recommendations for action based on the evidence,” after the allegations had been made.
But on Twitter Britt McHenry remained adamant
I am standing up for myself, for women and for what’s right. I have maintained the same allegations because the truth doesn’t change. I feel for any sexual harassment victim who has their story and evidence dismissed, doubted and not believed.

It is a good time for McHenry’s allegations to come to light. On Friday, the film “Bombshell” will be released—it is tagged as a “revealing look” into the Fox News media empire and the “women who brought down the infamous man who created it.”
