Trump had a bad time in London this week. So bad, in fact, he decided to skip town early.
What ruffled his feathers?
Well, The Canadian broadcaster CBC tweeted a clip from the NATO reception in London on Tuesday, with world leaders apparently joking about Trump. The clip quickly went viral.
And it wasn’t pretty.
UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson: “Is that why you were late?”
Canadian PM Justin Trudeau nods. “He [Trump] was late because he takes a 40 min press conference off the top.”
“oh yah yah yah, he announced… [inaudible]
French President Emmanuel Macron speaks inaudibly.
Trudeau again, later: “You just watched his team’s jaw drop to the floor.”
According to Vice, the footage was initially spotted on a Russian state news site before it was cleaned up and tweeted by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. The video has already been shared over 5 million times.
Plus, there was the fact that Princess Anne shrugged off properly greeting him, even though it earned her a bit of chastisement from the Queen. Her casual shrug has Princess Anne trending on Twitter.

It is worth recalling what Boris Johnson said about Trump in 2015:
“I would invite him to come and see the whole of London and take him round the city – except I wouldn’t want to expose any Londoners to any unnecessary risk of meeting Donald Trump.”
“The only reason I wouldn’t visit some parts of New York is the real risk of meeting Donald Trump.”
After the NATO clip was released, columnist Ian Bremmer noted:
This happens at every NATO summit with Trump. Every G7. Every G20. The US President is mocked by US allies behind his back.
WATCH the clip:
.@JustinTrudeau, @EmmanuelMacron, @BorisJohnson and other VIPs shared a few words at a Buckingham Palace reception Tuesday. Just a reminder for that NATO summit:
Confidence in the US president to do the right thing in world affairs, change from Obama to Trump:
Germany: -76%
France: -75%
Canada: -58%
UK: -51%
Russia: +8%(Pew Research)

Even George Conway, Kellyanne Conway’s husband, took a little dig at the President when he retweeted the video:
.@realDonaldTrump, you are the laughingstock of the planet. The world thinks you are an incompetent, ignorant, dumb, deranged buffoon—and they are right. And you prove it to them every day. https://t.co/mR0z1xwtaf
