After Hallmark got much-deserved backlash for it’s squeaky clean and heterosexual casting, the executive vice president said it was open to LGBTQ pitches. This angered conservatives, who complained, “News that the Hallmark Channel is looking to add LGBT-friendly movies to its lineup is yet another stab in the back for conservative Christians.”
LifeSiteNews started a petition to “Tell Hallmark No LGBT Christmas movies!”
I ❤️ the Hallmark Christmas movies! Any chance one of them will acknowledge that gay people exist? There are 40 new ones this year & you’ve produced so many, it would be great if even a supporting character was LGBTQ in even just one! 🎄 Merry Christmas!

The site whined, “Hallmark would be offending Christian viewers and Christian parents BIG TIME, by experimenting with homosexual themes, and, or cooperating with the LGBT indoctrination agenda, at all.” It boasted more than 30,000 signatures.
LGBTQ site Out said that the numbers were inflated because individuals “can sign the LifeSiteNews petition as many times as they want, so long as they list a new name and email address.”
Reformation Charlotte freaked out, “Leave it to the homosexual mafia to turn it into something completely and totally perverted.” The site referred to LGBTQ outlets as “pro-sodomy advocacy websites.”
The Wrap had previously reported that even though Hallmark had 40 new Christmas movies, none of the main characters were LGBTQ. In the Hollywood Reporter, Hallmark Channel CEO Bill Abbott said, “We’re open to really any type of movie of any type of relationship in any space.”
