Former senator likens Mitch McConnell to cannibalistic serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer

Former senator Al Franken has returned to bringing the jokes on Thursday.

Before his stint in the Senate, Franken was a writer and actor at “Saturday Night Live.” He took to Twitter to show off his comedy chops with a dig at Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY):

Franken was referring to McConnell’s declaration that the impeachment vote was a “partisan crusade.”

Sen. Franken resigned from office in January 2018, after a number of women came forward with allegations of sexual misconduct.

For those who don’t remember or weren’t alive in the early 90s, Jeffrey Dahmer was a Wisconson serial killer sometimes called the “Milwaukee Cannibal.” He was convicted of murdering 17 people over a thirteen-year period. Dahmer would lure people to his home, strangle them, and sexually assault their corpses.

He reportedly saved dismembered body parts that he would later eat. Hence the “dinner party” joke by Franken.
