'Making a mistake': Fox News host slams Trump's lawyers for arguing 'there’s nothing to see here'

Even Fox News hosts are realizing that running a sham impeachment trial in the Senate is a “mistake” that will have consequences for Republicans.

In the Senate on Wednesday Trump’s lawyers, Pat Cipollone and Jay Sekulow, insisted that President Donald Trump did nothing wrong, and little beyond that.

While reporting on the trial on Fox News, host Chris Wallace said that while Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) is playing it “smart” by taking the time to make the case in their allotted time, Trump’s lawyers are “making a mistake”:

“They [Trump’s lawyers] are basically saying, ‘There’s nothing to see here, all of this is bogus,’ while the House managers are taking every second of their one hour to make whatever case they want to make.”

“I don’t know why you wouldn’t take the time and every second you have to make an argument on behalf of the President. If I were the President watching this, I would not be especially pleased.”
