Trump’s economic advisor Larry Kudlow thinks the whole COVID thing is in the past. Families of the 1,147 Americans who died yesterday would probably disagree.

In his speech on the second night of the Republican convention, Kudlow must have had his watch set for 2030.

Here’s what he had to say about the virus that — as of this very second — has kept businesses and schools shuttered, sent tens of millions to the unemployment line, and killed nearly 180,000 Americans.

It was awful. Health and economic impacts were tragic. Hardship and heartbreak were everywhere. But presidential leadership came swiftly and effectively with an extraordinary rescue for health and safety to successfully fight the COVID virus.

Okay. There’s a lot to unpack here.

1.     “Was awful?” (WAS? Try IS awful, Larry)
2.     “Were tragic?” (WERE? Really!?! Tell that to the 1,147 Americans who DIED THE DAY YOU GAVE YOUR LITTLE TED TALK OF LIES!)
3.     “Hardship and heartbreak were everywhere?” (Seriously? Where did all the hardship and heartbreak go?)

Nearly 295,000 Americans WERE infected by the virus over the previous week. Do you think all of them were hardship and heartbreak-free?

Pretending something doesn’t exist doesn’t make it go away. If that were the case, Larry Kudlow would no longer be a problem for many, many people.
