Trump also launched an unprecedented attack on the military — again. This comes days after reports alleged that he had called American soldiers who died in war “losers” and “suckers.”
On Monday, 45 accused military leaders (that he appointed) of waging wars so defense manufacturing firms can continue to make profits. He said:
I’m not saying the military’s in love with me — the soldiers are, the top people in the Pentagon probably aren’t because they want to do nothing but fight wars so that all of those wonderful companies that make the bombs and make the planes and make everything else stay happy.
One tweet observed that while trying to defend his statements about the soldiers, he insulted the military some more.
A former veteran not only called out Trump’s “divide and conquer” strategy but also reminded people that the United States can’t survive four more years of Trump.
Many noted that it is military leaders like Eisenhower, familiar with the “hell of war,” that actually hate it the most.
