‘Even Adderall wants nothing to do with Trump’: Twitter deconstructs Trump’s Labor Day press conference

President Donald Trump summoned reporters to the White House for a Labor Day news conference on Monday. He used the executive mansion as a political stage — again.

He repeatedly slammed Joe Biden and defended his handling of the pandemic and the economy. Days after reports surfaced that he mocked soldiers, he even suggested military leadership isn’t in “love” with him because he wants to end wars.

Twitter made a lot of observations during Trump’s Labor Day meltdown, causing everything from Adderall to Eisenhower to trend on the social media platform.

A clip showing something flying out of Trump’s nose got the Internet’s attention. Twitter guessed it was Adderall, a drug designed to improve hyperactivity, impulsive behavior, and attention span.

Another Twitterati wondered if it was perhaps a chunk of Trump’s brain that flew out.

One user simply stated that even the drug didn’t want anything to do with Trump.

Even Trump’s alleged doctor until 2016 called “Dr. Feelgood” got some screen time.

Trump also launched an unprecedented attack on the military — again. This comes days after reports alleged that he had called American soldiers who died in war “losers” and “suckers.”

On Monday, 45 accused military leaders (that he appointed) of waging wars so defense manufacturing firms can continue to make profits. He said:

I’m not saying the military’s in love with me — the soldiers are, the top people in the Pentagon probably aren’t because they want to do nothing but fight wars so that all of those wonderful companies that make the bombs and make the planes and make everything else stay happy.

One tweet observed that while trying to defend his statements about the soldiers, he insulted the military some more.

A former veteran not only called out Trump’s “divide and conquer” strategy but also reminded people that the United States can’t survive four more years of Trump.

Many noted that it is military leaders like Eisenhower, familiar with the “hell of war,” that actually hate it the most.

Some even dug up interesting trivia linking Eisenhower to Fred Trump, Donald’s dad. The facts don’t look too good:

Twitterati also noted that Trump lied a lot during his Labor Day press conference.

In fact, CNN did a fact-check and counted at least 11 of the said lies.

Some were annoyed with journalists for not asking good follow-up questions while Trump spewed falsehoods. Like when he attacked Biden and Obama.

Or when he claimed that the U.S. took billions of dollars from China.

Someone even summed up the whole press conference with the lies in perspective.

Twitter users took note of how Trump used the White House for a press conference and how it resembled a campaign rally. CNN’s Jim Acosta savagely called out Trump for doing just that.

Some of them noticed that the themes addressed during the press conference are what made it sound like a campaign speech.

One Twitter user noted what was on everyone’s mind: Why is Trump giving a campaign speech on taxpayers’ dollars?

Remember when President Bill Clinton promised a “bridge to the 21st century” in his 1996 Labor Day speech? Or when Barack Obama talked about bailing out America’s automobile industry in his speech in 2012?
