Not long after Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced a formal impeachment inquiry of President Trump — after he admitted to both discussing with Ukraine’s new president his desire for an investigation into Joe Biden, and holding up a military aid package to Kiev — President Trump pledged to stop doing any work.
“House Democrats have destroyed any chances of legislative progress for the people of this country by continuing to focus all their energy on partisan political attacks. Their attacks on the President and his agenda are not only partisan and pathetic, they are in dereliction of their Constitutional duty.”
- White House Press Secretary Stephanie Grisham.
President Trump added later:
“Then they all wonder why they don’t get gun legislation done, then they wonder why they don’t get drug prices lowered.”
“Because all they do is talk nonsense. No more infrastructure bills, no more anything.”
It’s worth noting that President Trump has done nothing on any the important issues prior to the Impeachment announcement.
On gun legislation: He promised to move forward on stronger background checks after the El Paso shooting, but nothing was ever done.
On lowering drug prices: He talked a lot about lowering drug prices, but his results have been a little lackluster.
Pfizer & others should be ashamed that they have raised drug prices for no reason. They are merely taking advantage of the poor & others unable to defend themselves, while at the same time giving bargain basement prices to other countries in Europe & elsewhere. We will respond!

On infrastructure: Trump made promises about massive projects on the campaign trail, but there hasn’t been much movement on that front either.
It would seem that his threat to quit working isn’t really much of a threat at all. Especially when he has spent a huge portion of his time on the golf course instead of in the White House.
So far, Trump has spent 218 of his presidential days cavorting at various golf clubs around the country.
