2. He botched the name of an Indian philosopher:

He referred to the Indian philosopher Swami Vivekananda as Swami Vivekamanan, and called the Vedas—ancient Hindu religious texts—“Vestas.” He also mangled the names of India’s biggest cricket stars. The BBC reports some in the crowd began leaving midway through Trump’s speech.

5. He couldn’t keep their attention

It’s no surprise that much of the crowd started to leave half-way through his speech.

Trump ended his speech by saying, “God bless India, God bless the United States of America - we love you, we love you very much.” Indeed, this will be a speech India will always remember.

Trevor Noah put together a compilation of the mispronunciations. He also reminded everyone that Trump “can’t pronounce English words either.”

Colbert also poked fun at Trump’s struggle with Indian words, but the Late Show host also managed to work in a joke about the First Daughter as well, saying “Now he knows what it’s like to work in one of Ivanka’s factories.”
