Trump vs Momma Bears: The #ProtectOurKids video goes viral

MeidasTouch has released a new video: #ProtectOurKids. The latest ad is a fiery critique of Trump’s call to reopen schools in the fall.

It opens to the President seated and announcing, “We have to open our schools. It is so important to open our schools.”

The coronavirus pandemic continues to devastate the nation. Over 140,000 Americans have died of COVID-19, and we remain the global epicenter. On Monday, there were a record 1000 new cases of COVID-19 in Kentucky alone.

Parents across the nation are shocked, angered, and worried by the President’s call to reopen schools. When is it safe to reopen schools? According to MeidasTouch — NOT YET. The video makes this very clear. Any hope of a safe opening is dissolved by Vice President Mike Pence assuring us “we don’t want CDC guidelines” and the White House Press Secretary promising that “science should not stand in the way.”

Who needs science to protect children during a deadly pandemic? Twitter sounded the battle cry.

MeidasTouch called for 4,300 retweets in an hour. Twitter gave them 11.3 thousand and counting.

Some Twitter users felt Trump was using the schools as an “experiment,” while many others used the data to demonstrate the grave danger of sending children back to an unsafe environment. As one user pointed out, schools closed when there were 300,000 cases of the coronavirus, and they are set to open as the number of infected hits 5 million.

If America is ready to reopen schools, the White House must be ready for school tours?

Teachers aren’t expendable either.

Isn’t science exactly what should stand in the way of schools reopening?
